FRAGMENTS OF BEING
At first glance, Tatiana Yan's painting can be written down as a good interior art, something that "can decorate any living room." However, this is only a first impression. I would call her paintings respectable, but without referring to their commitment to the bourgeois lifestyle. Here it is more appropriate to recall the etymology of the word "respectable", which goes back to the Latin root meaning "second glance". It is this second glance that makes the interested viewer see the details that indicate the involvement of her art in a deeper discourse. However, I am far from thinking of listing Tatiana as an actual artist, especially since today, it seems, there is nothing more irrelevant than being ranked in this category. What nuances can a close observer see in her letter? I was interested in the fact that the eye, making its way through artistically careless brushstrokes of painting, sometimes clings to the obvious absurdities of the composition. These "irregularities" are allowed by the artist with such impeccable grace that one can't help but wonder: are they intentional or is it the negligence of an artist who is carried away by the harmony of color spots? But this question contains a special refinement of Tatiana's compositions. It is here that it is worth looking for a secret door into the depths of her world.Tatiana Yan's art is art after history and after art. It no longer claims to transform the world inherent in classical painting or to change it, manifested by the modernist trend. This is the gaze of a pilgrim who moves not so much in space as in time, and is ready to hold a melancholy gaze on both the Egyptian ruins and the withering pomegranate. Maybe that's why Tatiana's paintings resemble photographs of a traveler, but not with a technique, but with a look that is fundamentally fragmentary. The artist knows how to nobly extinguish the sophistication of the plots with the roughness of the brushstroke, the optional (visible) composition. Tatiana's last works were written under the influence of travels to Cappadocia and Egypt, although I called her a time traveler. But there is no contradiction here. Perhaps it is in these places that time ceases to exist, allowing you to get out of the bad infinity of everyday life.As I said, her look is characterized by a noble melancholy caused by a sober assessment of the state of affairs – the world is falling apart. However, in dying, as the philosopher Tatyana Goricheva notes, there is a special aura that allows meanings to flicker from under the too fragile outer shell. The world is really fragmented, and a modern artist can no longer put it together. But in each fragment we are still able to see the greatness of the Divine creation, which allows us to reflect on the original plan.Tatiana Yan's painting can help with this
